John, do you have a moment?

In a moment, I’m going to ask you to split a $5 donation between our campaign and Blue Amp Action to support our People-powered campaign. But first, I hope you’ll give me a moment to explain why this Movement and moment matter so much.

When I was expelled from the Tennessee House for standing with more than 7,000 young activists demanding action to end gun violence, I learned something in that moment: They can try to silence one voice, but they can never silence an entire Movement.

Our power comes from the belief that we the People — not corporations, not billionaires, and certainly not the status quo — hold the power to shape our country’s future.

We’ve got to get fired up when our children are dying from gun violence, when our environment and communities are poisoned for profit, and when our democracy is attacked by those afraid of our power.

We’ve got to get fired up for such a time as this — and to make real the promises that all People are created equal, endowed with the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. And we can only do it together because unity is our greatest strength.
