Yesterday was the opening day for Arizona’s Legislature. We can count on this legislative session being full of surprises but we can also rely on Governor Hobbs and Democratic legislators to put forward affordability solutions. 

As an organization committed to making Arizona more affordable, we applaud these proposals from Governor Hobbs:

• Arizona Affordability Fund will help families manage the high cost of living and the high cost of utility bills.

• Housing Acceleration Fund will help to build thousands of new affordable housing units.

• Data center tax exemption repeal will end the tax handout and make data centers pay their fair share. (A key piece in our own Affordability Agenda!)

Governor Hobbs is focusing on the right things. With these initiatives to lower the cost of housing and electricity—Arizonans will soon see their dollars stretch further. 

While Hobbs is improving Arizona’s economy, Arizona’s MAGA extremists are focusing on the wrong things. From a bill requiring the state to fund “Trump Derangement Syndrome” diagnoses to another bill giving ICE more power to make raids—their priorities are wrong for Arizona.
