What the hell is happening.

This is not a joke.

A Republican in Congress just introduced a bill that would give Donald Trump the authority to annex Greenland and make it the 51st state of the United States.

Read that again.

This isn’t diplomacy. This isn’t national security. This is one man being handed the power to absorb sovereign territory, shred international norms, and bulldoze our alliances on a whim.

Greenland is part of Denmark, a NATO ally. Its people have repeatedly said they do not want to be part of the United States. And yet Republicans are openly pushing legislation to let Trump take it anyway.

That is not how democracies behave. That’s how strongmen operate.

This is the same pattern we’ve seen over and over. Break norms. Centralize power. Dare anyone to stop him. And right now, Republicans are lining up to help.

If this feels insane, it’s because it is. And it’s exactly why the 2026 midterms matter so much. Because unchecked power doesn’t stop on its own. It has to be stopped.
