Dear John,
It was great to visit Rochester on Wednesday to meet with our 2020 candidates representing Monroe County and the Finger Lakes. These individuals decided to run because they care about our country and our state, and they couldn’t sit back anymore while the extreme left pushes an agenda that is so dangerously wrong for New Yorkers.
Whether it’s in Washington DC with AOC and her team looking to fundamentally dismantle the United States, or in Albany with radical New York City Democrats controlling the entire New York State agenda, we need a return to sanity and balance in our government.
Our public safety is threatened like never before. Violent crime is way up across New York and every week we are reading headlines about multiple shootings, stabbings and robberies in every part of the State.
Make no mistake, the surge in crime is a direct result of the policies that have neutered law enforcement. Our men and women in uniform are now the ones wearing handcuffs as the criminals walk free - and it’s the result of the elimination of cash bail that has put criminals right back on the street.
Meanwhile, Governor Cuomo is doing nothing to address this. He’s too busy selling his self-promotional pandemic poster and taking vanity trips to Georgia.
On this week’s town hall I was joined by one of Governor Cuomo’s most vocal opponents, Rensselaer County Executive Steve McLaughlin. Steve and I discussed the Governor’s failures and the importance of having our local officials involved in the process. It was a great conversation, and I want to thank Steve again for taking the time to join us.
If you were unable to attend, you can watch the town hall below.
Sincerely,
