Last week Florida Governor Ron Desantis announced an emergency session to redistrict the FL Congressional map and remove the majority of FL’s democratic seats. 

The move was a last ditch measure to shore up the GOP majority following the sudden death of Congressman LaMalfa (R-CA) whose passing, along with the resignation of MTG and the defection of Congressman Massie, has brought the GOP majority to effectively just one vote. 

Speaking to a reporter on Desantis’ unprecedented move to eliminate Florida Democrats off of the map, Nikki Fried, the chair of the Florida Democratic party said: “They are trying to steal an election, and we’re just not going to stand back and let that happen. Democrats are going to have to bring a gun to a gunfight. ” 

Short of the FL Supreme Court blocking the new maps (unlikely), it is too late for Democrats to save Florida. However, by removing red seats in blue states we can “bring a gun to a gun fight” and blunt MAGA’s redistricting edge ensuring the new seats they pick up in Florida are negated. 

Our best shot of doing this right now is in Colorado where Republicans make up half of the Congressional delegation of this deep blue state. 

Colorado Draws the Line is introducing and campaigning for the ballot initiative that will give Coloradans the chance to stand up to MAGA by erasing 3-4 GOP districts (including Boebert’s district CO-04) off the CO Congressional map. But it isn’t going to be easy.
