I know it’s getting late, so I won’t take up too much of your time.

One of the hardest parts of every campaign I’ve run is asking supporters like you to chip in and support our team. Asking folks for their hard-earned money is not why I got into politics, and I wish I didn’t have to think about fundraising goals or important deadlines for even a second.

But the truth is, these fundraising emails are necessary.

Here’s why: this election won’t only be enormously consequential, John. It will also be enormously expensive. In the last election, the far-right spent over $30 million to try to install an extremist in the Governor’s office.

And this year? That number could grow even higher.

That kind of money can buy a lot of attack ads — and if we don’t have the resources to respond with the truth? We’ll be handing the far-right a tremendous advantage come November.

So even though I hate to ask, it’s necessary: will you rush a donation of any amount before our Launch Week deadline on Wednesday night? Please know, every dime of your donation will be put to good use here in Pennsylvania.
