We live in one of the wealthiest countries, yet people still face financial ruin just to get basic healthcare. That’s just plain wrong.

Republican Derek Schmidt celebrated the bill that caused ACA subsidies to expire—and in 2026, he doubled down by voting against extending them, despite broad House support.

This isn’t what the country I served stands for. This isn’t what the economy I raise cattle in is supposed to support. This isn’t why I pay my taxes. I’m DONE watching it happen.
