New Jersey is eternally grateful for the bravery that our law enforcement officers exhibit each and every day.
One such officer who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our country was New Jersey native and U.S. Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick, who lost his life protecting the United States Capitol and our very democracy from violent insurrectionists on January 6, 2021.
On National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day last week, I joined the Sicknick family to remember Officer Sicknick and honor his service to our nation.

I also signed a joint resolution declaring July 30, Officer Sicknick’s birthday, as Brian Sicknick Day in New Jersey.
On National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day — and every day — we honor the officers who protect our communities, keep our loved ones safe, and represent the very best of law enforcement that this country has to offer.
Thank you,
Phil
