What we witnessed last week in Minneapolis was horrific, and frankly, terrifying. As Renee Good’s family is grieving her killing by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), we are outraged by the tragedy and appalled by the Trump Administration's re-writing of reality.
When trigger-happy MAGA extremists have been unleashed in U.S. cities disguised by face masks and ICE badges, we cannot look away. Two things are critical in this moment: we must denounce ICE’s violence and demand an unbiased investigation into the killing of Renee Good.>> [[link removed]]

The killing of Renee Good was avoidable. She should still be here today. But this violence against civilians is not isolated, or even unpredictable. Trump’s deployment of the National Guard and ICE agents across the country has been wreaking havoc on immigrant communities, rolling out armed intimidation against his political opposition, and promising impunity from lawless actions. The dangerous combination of armed extremists and zero consequences has made violence nothing less than inevitable.
The United States is already an outlier when it comes to civilians harmed in the name of enforcement – but the new era of ICE is more dangerous than ever before. The Department of Homeland Security is intentionally recruiting far-right, racist, Second Amendment extremists and teaching them the gun lobby’s “shoot-first” tactic.
The Trump administration’s violent anti-immigration campaign has wrought havoc in the past week alone: Since January 8, Federal officers have fatally shot at least four people, and there have been at least 30 incidents of federal agents shooting someone or holding them at gunpoint.
We must demand accountability for federal agents' brutality against Americans. Your solidarity is vital as we take on an administration that is quicker to deny facts and falsify information than to accept accountability. We must demand a thorough investigation into the ICE killing of Renee Good and accountability for the ICE agent involved. John, this is a critical moment.
