The increasing use of military tactics and forces within the United States is closely connected to decades of militarized foreign policy. Military practices developed and normalized overseas, including armed intervention, occupation, and counterinsurgency, are increasingly reflected at home in immigration enforcement, the policing of protests, and expanded domestic security operations.

This webinar will examine how domestic militarization has evolved, why it has accelerated in recent years, and what risks it poses to democratic governance and civil liberties. Panelists will explore whether these trends represent a fundamental shift in how political authority is exercised inside the United States, and what alternatives may still be available.

Brainstorming a Green Transportation Platform for Everybody!

Wednesday January 14th

6:00 PM ET, 5:00 PM CT, 4:00 PM MT, 3:00 PM PT

During this webinar, we will be brainstorming a green or “greenish” transportation platform for everybody. We welcome a great debate between those who advocate modern transit and those who are critical of newer transit? Should we build through participatory democracy and comprehensive planning to improve and expand on existing services workers use to be mobile? Webinar participants should bring their ideas to the discussion. Nothing will be settled here—just many brains storming about how we want to build our communities and how we want to move around.
