This week marks the kickoff of Arizona’s 2026 legislative session, and a topic we're keeping a close eye on is education. 📚🍎📝

ICYMI: AZ Republicans are pushing to keep private school vouchers, a program that largely helps the wealthy and funnels taxpayer dollars away from everything from public schools to infrastructure.

This school year alone, private school vouchers are expected to cost over $1 billion. Meanwhile, AZ public schools are forced to cut budgets, lay off teachers, and slash salaries.

Democrats like Gov. Katie Hobbs want to invest more in our state’s public schools and the middle class. If we control the state legislature, we can push for what we care about — but this work takes resources.
