John, Emil Bove is proof of
Trump’s court takeover.
Bove has gone from Donald Trump’s personal criminal defense attorney to a
powerful DOJ official to holding a lifetime seat on a federal appeals
court, as if he can rule with impartiality.
Are you kidding?
And it’s just gone downhill since then. Emil Bove has:
* Publicly praised Trump’s pardon of a convicted drug trafficker — even
though Bove himself helped prosecute the case as a federal prosecutor.
* Declared his personal trust and loyalty to Trump’s judgment as
president while sitting on the federal bench.
* Attended a Trump rally at a partisan MAGA event, sitting just rows
from the stage as Trump attacked immigrants and so-called "political
enemies".
* Written a court opinion benefiting the Trump administration shortly
after joining the bench.
* Acted in ways that legal ethics experts say create a clear appearance
of partisanship and allegiance — not independence.
Judges are supposed to be independent. They’re supposed to uphold the rule
of law — not defend the president’s political decisions, show up at his
rallies, or behave like ethics rules don’t apply to them.
But Emil Bove doesn’t care. He’s more concerned with cozying up to Trump
for personal gain rather than actually doing his job.
Trump and his allies are packing the courts with loyalists and daring us
to look away while they lock in power for decades. This is what court
capture looks like, plain and simple.
Demand Justice exists to stop it. We expose judicial corruption, pressure
senators to stop rubber-stamping Trump cronies for lifetime seats, and
refuse to let corruption on the bench become normal or permanent. But we
