Friend,
I just issued nearly $25 million in fines against Georgia health insurance companies for trying to skirt the law.
Absolutely no one is above the law, and that includes these powerful companies.
As I’ve said before, the time to get into compliance was yesterday. Today, we’re taking action.
I’ve fined insurance companies more than any commissioner in Georgia history, to the tune of more than $42 million.
I’m a lawman and soldier. I don’t owe special interests anything and I don’t work for them.
I fight for you, and I’m not stopping there.
We need to increase the amount my office is allowed to fine insurance companies for trying to skirt the law.
And we need to cap the excess profits auto insurance companies can make on the backs of Georgia families.
Both will keep the insurance companies in check while also helping lower costs for Georgia families.
As I said, the fight is far from over, but today we took another step in the right direction. We’re letting folks know that we won’t hesitate to take action against any company that violates the law.
No exceptions.
Thanks for standing with me,
