Rachel Carlson
KinderBoost Teacher
Tongue River Elementary School, SCSD#1
It's not every day you find a teacher who embraces change, even when it makes her own day more challenging. Mrs. Rachel Carlson, our dedicated KinderBoost teacher at Tongue River Elementary School, ensures every child, no matter the obstacle, thrives in a top-notch classroom environment. She masterfully differentiates instruction to meet the diverse academic and behavioral needs of her young learners, fostering a vibrant and controlled classroom environment.
Faced with a spectrum of behaviors and skill levels, she responds with positivity, courage, and purpose, systematically tailoring her approach to guide each child in background knowledge, letters and sounds, vocabulary, and interactive read-alouds. In doing so, she represents the strong knowledge and respectful care for early childhood development.
Mrs. Carlson is a truly exceptional teacher and has also recently earned National Board Certification in Early Childhood. Ultimately, her genuine love for her students, families, colleagues, and community shines through in everything she does, a constant reminder of why teaching matters.
“Mrs. Carlson is our school liaison in early childhood. She excitedly collaborates with families and staff, ensuring a cohesive and supportive educational experience for all KinderBoost students. Having Mrs. Carlson for KinderBoost sets up every child for success in their educational journey, as her nurturing and inspiring teaching fosters a love for learning!”
