 I just left our all-staff campaign meeting, and the only thing on my mind is… “oh no”. Look, the first few days of January are typically slower when it comes to fundraising. It makes sense — folks are still celebrating the new year, and haven’t given a lot of thought about an election ten months down the road. But we’re now eleven days into 2026 — and our fundraising hasn’t picked up. Now, our numbers are wayyyy behind where they were at this point in the last election! I don’t know how else to say this: if this trend continues, we could be in for a world of disappointment on Election Day. I really wish money and fundraising wasn’t such a big part of running for Congress — but that’s the system we live in. And until we change it, that’s the system we have to win in.
