The news over the past few months has been a lot to take in: ICE is
conducting violent raids, detaining anyone they want, and recklessly using
lethal force. Health care costs are soaring for working people who are
already struggling to pay the bills. And Donald Trump seems determined to
get our nation entangled in more endless wars.
We know there’s a lot of fear out there — but we can’t let that fear stop
us from taking action. That’s how authoritarians win.
And we also can’t let fear be the only thing that motivates us. Pramila
has said before that Democrats can’t just be an opposition party. We also
have to be a proposition party that advances a hopeful vision for a better
future.
That’s why, in addition to speaking out against Trump’s authoritarian
agenda, Pramila is continuing to focus on building support for progressive
policies that will make a real, positive difference for working people.
Policies like:
* Medicare For All, the only universal health care plan in Congress that
will make sure everyone can afford care. A recent poll even shows it’s
popular in battleground House districts!
* Just immigration reform, so we can fix our broken system and stop
politicians like Donald Trump from playing politics with immigrants’
lives.
* Raising the minimum wage so that no one who works full time struggles
to afford to live.
But John, building
the movement we’ll need to defeat MAGA at the polls and elect a government
that will actually enact this progressive vision is going to take a lot of
work — and since Pramila doesn’t take a dime from corporate PACs or
lobbyists, she’s counting on your grassroots support to keep up the fight.
