Well, folks, we made it. The election year.
I've been doing this job long enough to know what that means. The pace picks up. The stakes get higher.
The truth of the matter is, with Donald Trump in the White House and Republicans in total control of Congress, the Senate is our last check on this corrupt administration. Every Senate seat Democrats win is another vote demanding answers, another voice calling out the chaos, another roadblock to their worst ideas.
But Republicans know that, too. That’s why my race could be one of Republicans' top targets. They know there's no path to a Democratic majority without this seat. They've been planning for this. They're not going to wait around.
Neither are we. Our team is already on the ground mobilizing supporters and collecting petition signatures to secure my place on the ballot. But we have a lot of work to do in the coming months to make sure we can compete with the massive fundraising hauls that Republicans are racking up.
