For more than three years, the Trump administration has done what it can to stop
Muslims, refugees, asylum seekers, and many others from entering our country. The passage of the National Origin-Based Antidiscrimination for Nonimmigrants
(NO BAN) Act is a major step toward ending discrimination in our immigration
laws and policies.
We wanted to thank you for your help over the years. HIAS supporters have sent
tens of thousands of messages, conducted more than 100 meetings with members of
Congress, attended rallies and press conferences, made phone calls, held
community forums, and joined in partnership with hundreds of other community
groups… all to make sure that this historic legislation passed the House.
Although we still have miles to walk, this is a step in the right direction. So
let’s pause and recognize this win, and thank you for all that you do.
