Sarah for Iowa

Hey John, it’s Sarah! I hope this catches you before you log off for the weekend.

In the months since I launched my campaign last year, I’ve spent hours and hours knocking on doors, joining meet and greets, and hosting a town hall in IA-03 to hear from folks in my community about their concerns. And the truth is, a lot of people are worried about the direction our country is heading.

Trust me, I get it.

Year after year, Democrats in Iowa promise they’ll finally be the ones to flip our state or their district blue. And year after year, we get our hopes up and devote our time, energy, and resources to campaigns that keep falling short.

I’ve been in your shoes, as I knocked on doors and donated to campaigns just to see disappointing results on Election Day. I get it, it’s frustrating.

Meanwhile, Zach Nunn and Donald Trump are leaving our communities behind just to score points with their billionaire backers. They’re cutting SNAP benefits, driving up health care premiums, and spiking energy costs at a time when folks are already struggling to make ends meet. We deserve better. Instead, we have Nunn.

Look, I don't make promises I can't keep. But I can tell you this: I know how to win in Iowa, and I've proven I can win the races everyone says can't be won.

When I first ran for State Senate, this grassroots team helped me take on Republican State Senate President Jake Chapman in a right-leaning district and we won.

Then, two years later, when the Iowa GOP threw everything at me in my reelection fight, we won again in a district Trump carried.

I know big things are possible when we come together, especially in a year where Democrats have momentum on our side. That’s why I got into the field early, so I could talk to as many folks as possible and share my message with voters long before Nunn could try to attack me.

But now that we’re officially in the midterm election year, this campaign is kicking into high gear, and I’ll need a lot of grassroots support to make sure I can continue connecting directly with voters here in Iowa. So if my message resonates with you, can you please chip in $10 or whatever amount is meaningful to you to help power my campaign? Every action you take brings us one step closer to the Iowa we believe in.
