TELL CONGRESS: The Senate advanced a bipartisan war powers resolution 52 - 47 to stop Trump’s unconstitutional war on Venezuela. We must keep the pressure on the Senate, and ensure the House follows with a bipartisan majority, to stop Trump’s unilateral military actions. Sign the petition: Block Trump’s unconstitutional war on Venezuela NOW!

A bipartisan majority in the Senate voted 52 - 47 to stop Trump’s war on Venezuela, a rare and historic rebuke of Trump’s unilateral military aggression.1

Trump wrote an angry Truth Social rant directed at the Republicans who voted for the resolution, saying they should be “ashamed” and that the war powers resolution was “unconstitutional.”2 In reality, the only thing unconstitutional was Trump’s invasion of Venezuela.

Trump is now going to ramp up the pressure and threaten GOP members of the House and Senate to get in line behind him. It’s critical that bipartisan majorities in the House and Senate pass the war powers resolution to stop Trump from attacking Venezuela and other countries he has threatened with military action, like Denmark, Iran, Cuba, and Mexico.

Trump’s military aggression against Venezuela began with one deadly, illegal boat bombing in the Caribbean. After Trump’s many escalations — more than 20 boat bombings, covert operations inside Venezuela, moving military ships into the Caribbean, and seizing Venezuelan oil tankers — Trump invaded and kidnapped President Maduro.

Left unchecked, Trump will keep escalating against anyone he sees as an adversary — Venezuela, Mexico, Iran, Cuba, Colombia, and others.

Congress must do its job, protect the Constitution, and reassert its authority over a reckless strongman who is putting us all in danger. These votes are imminent, and we must put pressure on our lawmakers to end this war.

Sign the petition: Pass a war powers resolution to stop Trump’s war on Venezuela!
