Michael and Maya didn’t expect to return after the holiday break only to cover such a devastating story.
The shooting in Minneapolis wasn’t self-defense. Of course, if justice were to be done, that statement could be evaluated by a jury in a court of law. The likelihood of that ever happening is low. For now, the best we can do is believe our own eyes.
That is exactly what Trump, Bovino, Noem, Bondi and the rest don’t want you to do. It’s also a classic authoritarian play. But as we’re seeing now on the streets of Minneapolis, Americans are fed up.
What will it take to break this regime? What will it take to get our cities back? When will the fever lift?
It could be generations. But that doesn’t give us permission to give up.
