Hi John ,

As we step into the new year with a fresh lens, we know one thing that remains clear: our democracy is strongest when every voice is heard, and every vote counts.

At NPP, we’re entering this year with renewed purpose.

In the months ahead, we’ll be sharing how we’re taking action, and how you can stand with us to ensure our democracy works for everyone.

  LOOKING BACK AT 2025

SOCIAL MEDIA OF THE WEEK

From Pete Buttigieg @pete.buttigieg
"It's an old and obvious pattern. An unpopular president - failing on the economy and losing his grip on power at home - decides to launch a war for regime change abroad.

The American people don't want to "run" a foreign country while our leaders fail to improve life in this one."

Think about this: if they didn’t have oil, would the US government have intervened?

AFFILIATED ORGANIZATION

NPPEF ON THE GROUND

New Year, Renewed Commitments

After a holiday break, the affilitated organization NPPEF returned to the ground on Jan. 5th.

Rain, wind, sleet and snow, they're meeting folks where they are.

There's no time to waste. The primary election is on May 19th!

There’s still 1.5 million Pennsylvanians who are eligible to vote and not registered!

It's NPPEF's mission to fix that, one voter registration at a time.

#COURTSMATTER

The U Supreme Court could erase decades of progress for Black voters
"In 1965, there were only six Black lawmakers in the U.S. House and none in the Senate. There are now 60 Black voting members in the House (plus two nonvoting delegates) and five in the Senate. But this long-overdue progress could be reversed if the Supreme Court further weakens the Voting Rights Act of 1965."

NEWS YOU CAN USE

New year, same wage: Pa. retains minimum wage despite 19 states seeking an increase

"Nineteen states across the country, including New Jersey, raised their minimum wages to kick off the New Year, but Pennsylvania was once again excluded from that list."

House takes step toward extending Affordable Care Act subsidies, overpowering GOP leadership
"A bipartisan coalition in the House voted Wednesday to push forward a measure that would revive an enhanced pandemic-era subsidy that lowered health insurance costs for roughly 22 million people, but that had expired last month."

INVEST IN OUR YEAR ROUND EFFORTS

Everything we do, from hosting town halls and producing podcasts to knocking on doors, expands Pennsylvania's electorate by engaging Pennsylvanians to be civically involved and encouraging them to turn out to vote twice a year, none of it would be possible without you.
