Yesterday, January 6, was a reminder of something we already know but can’t afford to ignore.
Misinformation is not slowing down. The President and his MAGA allies are doubling down on distortion, outrage, and division. And while the headlines change daily, the strategy stays the same: confuse voters, undermine trust, and win power by tearing democratic norms apart.
That’s why Alaska needs to send leaders to DC like Mary Peltola.
Mary showed the country what Alaska leadership can look like: practical, values-driven, and rooted in community, not ideology. Many of you stepped up because you believed in that kind of representation. So did we.
In 2022 and 2024, BAF Action put real effort and resources into supporting reasonable candidates like Mary who can win in Alaska and legislate with integrity. We are committed to doing it again this cycle.
Right now, we are harnessing our resources and strengthening our capacity so we’re ready early with the tools, the coalition, and the communications power to help elect leaders like Mary and stop MAGA extremism from taking deeper root in Alaska.
This is what building for victory looks like in January:
- Countering misinformation before it hardens into “common knowledge”
- Keeping Alaska’s center coalition engaged: Independents, moderates, and pro-democracy voters
- Building the outreach infrastructure we’ll need when it counts
- Supporting candidates who can actually win here and represent Alaska well
BAF Action is an Alaska-based, pro-democracy 501(c)(4). We don’t answer to national party machines. We answer to Alaskans who believe in fairness, transparency, and accountable leadership.
If you supported Mary before, thank you. You helped prove something important: Alaska does not have to choose extremism. We can choose common sense.
