If and when I’m elected governor, I’ve got a robust plan to get Iowa back
on track by bringing accountability back to state government.
(As to whether or not the partisans in the legislature will operate in
good faith, well, let’s just say we’re going to have to turn up the
pressure on that front.)
In my final year as State Auditor, we’ve put together a list of
legislative priorities that would tackle corruption, cut down on misuse of
taxpayer dollars, and hold bad actors accountable.
[ [link removed] ]I’ve always worked tirelessly to earn and maintain Iowans’ trust, and
as governor, I’d do my darndest to do the same. If I can count on your
support, will you please pitch in a few bucks to my campaign today?

One of the first things we need to do is repeal the law the partisans
passed in 2023 gutting the State Auditor’s office. That’s an obvious one.
It’s the most blatantly pro-corruption law imaginable because — and this
is not a joke — it allows for government agencies to hide documents from
the Auditor’s office.
The law slows down audits, compromises investigations, and ultimately
wastes taxpayer dollars while undercutting folks’ faith in state
government.
Second, we need to do more to hold bad actors accountable. Public
officials who abuse their elected office and the public’s trust should
face consequences for their actions.
Next, we need to invest in government oversight. If we don’t put the
necessary resources into funding our audit process, then we’re just
spinning our wheels and wasting money. (And you know how I feel about
wasting money.)
Finally, government agencies should understand the importance of
efficiency, integrity, and public trust, and that they’ll be held
accountable if they don’t play by the rules.
[ [link removed] ]Together, we can make Iowa a place that works for all Iowans, and where
state government truly is of the people, by the people, and for the
people. Will you pitch in $25 today to help make that a reality?
