17 years ago, there was:

* No Elizabeth Warren or Bernie Sanders as national figures
* No strong Congressional Progressive Caucus
* No consensus that Democrats need bold economic populism
* No major Presidential, Senate, or House candidates talking about
taxing billionaires, expanding Social Security, or Medicare For All

Huff Post, reporting on our launch, wrote, "The organization will be the
first of its kind exclusively to focus on electing progressive Democrats
in congressional elections."

In 2026, the PCCC’s core mission is clear: We will demonstrate that bold,
inspiring, economic populist leaders (fighting for workers and corporate
accountability) CAN WIN – especially in swing states and districts.

By demonstrating this strength in 2026, we will set the tone for the
national debate to come in 2027 and 2028.

Here’s the plan for 2026:

We will prioritize the races that can prove, with real wins, that economic
populists can win swing states. To do that, we will do what PCCC does
best: get in early, get in deep, and help great candidates break through.

That means embedding staff with key campaigns. Providing deep consulting
and support. Serving as super-connectors to high-impact donors, thought
leaders, and journalists. Conducting unique polling and paid tactics.
Engaging national media.

We, along with allies in Congress now, candidates and challengers running
for Congress in 2026, and with allied organizations across the country,
will then push those ideas into the center of the national debate.

We have been building toward this critical moment for 17 years.

PCCC members have donated more than $40 million to help elect luminaries
and fighters such as Elizabeth Warren, Jamie Raskin, Maxwell Frost, Summer
Lee, Greg Casar, and hundreds of other champions over the years.

We have trained thousands of leaders. And we have changed the national
debate on issues ranging from expanding Social Security and defending
democracy to taking on corporate monopolies and banning members of
Congress from trading stocks.

Now, we are putting this track record into the existential fight against
Trump and Trumpism – a fight we MUST win.
