Dear John,
Earlier today in Minneapolis, a protester was fatally shot during an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operation amid the Trump administration’s intensified immigration crackdown. Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey has strongly condemned ICE’s presence in the city, calling the incident “reckless” and unnecessary, and disputing DHS’s accounts of this tragedy.
ICE’s actions and the Trump administration’s justifications represent a dangerous escalation and a direct threat to the safety of our immigrant neighbors, friends, and everyone who calls this country home. No one should be subjected to intimidation, violence, or militarized enforcement under the guise of public safety.
This is an unprecedented moment—and silence is not an option.
We are calling on our community to join us to stand in solidarity with people in Minneapolis and across the country who are standing up to ICE and against the Trump administration’s reckless immigration crackdown.
When: TODAY, January 7
Time: 6 PM
Where: Foley Square, NYC
Our presence matters. Our voices matter. And our solidarity makes a difference.
