Because Republicans — who have control of the House, the Senate, and the White House — enacted 2 major things just weeks ago:
A lot of people think this kind of thing won't affect them if they aren't on Medicaid, Medicare, or the Affordable Care Act.
They are, sadly, mistaken.
Massive cuts to our healthcare system also forces private insurance to skyrocket because the whole system will have to make up the difference.
This is why the government was shut down, by the way — trying to prevent these ACA insurance hikes from going into place.
We must remember: Republicans were given an assignment to find billions in tax cuts for their donors.
We have to stop enabling their abuse of power.
