“Whatever happens, I love you.”
That was the text I got from my husband, Colin, on Jan. 6, 2021.
When a violent mob had breached the U.S. Capitol with Colin inside, my stomach dropped.
I was seven months pregnant at the time with our second son, and my mind was going a mile a minute: Was I about to lose Colin? Was this really happening in the United States of America?
After what seemed like forever, I finally got word that Colin and his colleagues were safe – and I breathed a heavy, heavy sigh of relief. Thank god.
We’re now five years past that dark day, but it’s as fresh in my mind as if it happened yesterday. The fear, the anxiety, the sadness.
And unfortunately, the threat to our democracy remains just as real.
Donald Trump and his MAGA allies are attacking our fundamental rights – and their extreme agenda has gone completely unchecked by Republican majorities in Congress. They’re making life harder and more expensive for working families, and we’ve got to fight back.
That’s why Colin is running. He’s ready to give Texas’ 33rd District the bold representation it deserves and return to Congress to serve as a critical check on Trump’s MAGA agenda – but he can’t do it alone.
So, friend, I’m personally asking: Will you make a contribution of $5 or whatever you can spare today to power Colin’s grassroots campaign? Every dollar makes a huge difference.

Thank you for being with our family in this fight. We’re so grateful.
