Affordable Housing for Seniors in NYC
Tuesday, January 13
2 pm ET
The Housing Resource Center invites older adults in the performing arts and entertainment community to a specialized class that clarifies the affordable housing landscape and helps you get fully prepared to apply for opportunities in NYC.
While this class builds on the foundation of our general Applying for Affordable Housing course, it goes further—focusing on the programs, options and considerations most relevant to seniors living and working in New York City. We’ll explore senior-specific housing opportunities, eligibility requirements and ways to document income that reflect the realities of a life in the arts, from fluctuating gigs to unconventional work histories.
In clear, simple steps, we’ll walk through the application process so you can avoid common pitfalls and feel confident when opportunities arise. We’ll also discuss how to assess your income, gather necessary documentation and understand lotteries and waiting lists.
This class is designed to provide seniors the guidance and tools needed to take the next step toward affordable housing.
Please register or log in to our Entertainment Community Fund Portal to access our workshops, programs and services. Our portal is designed to cater to your individual needs and interests, offering access to a wide range of resources and support—all with the guidance and understanding of what it takes to build a life and career in the arts.
