The invasion of Venezuela and the arrest of Maduro might seem like just another means of extracting wealth for Trump and his friends — and, sure, it is — but this reckless, illegal move has much broader, bigger, more catastrophic implications for the global order.
As a refresher, the global order, or all of its weak points, flaws, quirks, and injustices, has kept us out of a major-power war since 1945. A shake up in this system of alliances could lead to a rejiggering of economic alliances, military alliances, and, says Brian Daitzman of TheIntellectualist , World War III.
