Please stand with me to call on Congress to hold Trump accountable for the U.S.’s illegal intervention in Venezuela.
John, we need to talk about Venezuela.
This Saturday, Trump carried out an illegal U.S. intervention in Venezuela without Congressional input, escalating global tensions, risking backlash against Americans, and bringing us even further away from democracy.
Americans do not want this conflict. We do not support another endless war that will burden generations to come, drain public resources, and cost innocent lives. Violence justified in the name of power or profit is never acceptable. There should be no more blood spilled for oil.
Despite what Trump will tell you, this move was based solely on greed and power. What is happening in Venezuela reflects a broader pattern: This is just one of many dangerous decisions made in Washington without accountability.
So much is happening and it can feel overwhelming. Tyranny often moves quicker than our ability to process it. But we must try, we must slow down, we must tell the truth, and we must demand better.
Congress has both the authority and the responsibility to act, and that’s why Congress must vote on the War Powers Resolution and put an immediate stop to any unauthorized aggression. Can you add your name to call on Congress to vote on the War Powers Resolution?

We can build a Congress that chooses dignity over detention, compassion over cruelty, and justice over fear, and it is imperative that we do. We need a Congress that prioritizes peace, accountability, and the humanity of all people.
That is the future we’re fighting for.
In solidarity,
Angela
