John,
This weekend, Donald Trump made the unilateral decision to invade Venezuela and overthrow its leader.
Under our Constitution, the President does not have the authority to invade a foreign country. The power to authorize military force belongs to Congress. That separation is one of the most important safeguards we have against reckless, unchecked war.
But because Donald Trump has no regard for the rule of law, and because Congress is run by Republicans who let him do any damn thing he pleases… here we are. Starting another war over oil.
Our priorities are out of line, John, and I’m tired of it. If you agree that this abuse of power is unacceptable, join me in standing against it by adding your name now. [[link removed]]

We’re talking about seizing foreign leaders abroad while families here at home are struggling to afford groceries, rent, and gas. We’re escalating international conflict while millions of Americans cannot access affordable healthcare. And we’re pouring attention and resources into overseas operations while classrooms are overcrowded, underfunded, and failing too many of our kids.
This misuse of power and resources is a travesty. When I’m governor, I’ll stand up for the Constitution, demand accountability from anyone who tries to drag this country into war without the consent of the people, and refocus our priorities where they belong.
If you stand with me, will you add your name now? [[link removed]]
South Carolina deserves leadership that puts people first and treats war as the last resort it should always be.
Thanks for being on the right side of history,
Jermaine

I wasn’t born into power — I fought my way into it. I'm not a career politician or a wealthy insider. I'm a husband, father, and fighter who knows what it’s like to grow up with nothing and still keep pushing forward.
