We have several Special Elections taking place in January in Virginia, and two of them are right in the Capitol City region! This newsletter shares information on the Special Elections happening tomorrow in the City of Richmond and Chesterfield County for Senate District 15 and House District 77 – both of which cover parts of Richmond City and Chesterfield County; and highlights select community engagements from this past week. Special Elections: SD-15 and HD-77
Tomorrow is Election Day for voters in Richmond City and Chesterfield County, with two Special Elections taking place in SD-15 and HD-77. Information on how to cast your ballot is included below:
* Polls are open from 6:00am until 7:00pm. Individuals in line by 7:00pm should stay in line—they will be able to vote.
* Polling locations can be confirmed at the Virginia Department of Elections website [[link removed]] .
* An acceptable form of ID [[link removed]] is required.
* Curbside voting is available for constituents with disabilities or mobility limitations.

I endorse Delegate Mike Jones to assume my seat representing the communities of Senate District 15. Delegate Jones has stood up repeatedly on issues that impact our constituents, including fighting for school funding, advancing housing affordability, standing up for environmental protections, responding to gun violence in neighborhoods, and more. He has been an advocate for all of us in the House of Delegates, and he will continue his strong record in the State Senate.
For House District 77, I endorse Charles 'Charlie' Schmidt . As a longtime civil rights attorney and community activist, Charlie has a strong record of fighting for working people and families. He will be a new, essential voice in the House of Delegates, helping us build a Commonwealth that is more affordable, equitable, and just.

On Saturday, I joined voters in Chesterfield County for an event supporting Senate District 15 Democratic nominee, Delegate Mike Jones. The Special Election for my former seat in Senate District 15 is crucial to maintaining Democratic control of the State Senate. Our Constitutional amendments for reproductive health care, marriage equality, voting rights, and congressional representation are all on the line.
