From an inauguration speech advocating taxing billionaires in order to make child care and public transportation affordable for working families to challenging a corporate landlord in support of striking renters, Mamdani is showing how big economic ideas debated nationally can impact local kitchen-table conversations everywhere.
If successful, Mamdani’s mainstream agenda and storytelling could reposition economic progressives as the dominant political force not just in America, but set an example for the world.
