PM Lawrence Wong’s New Year Message

"BEYOND JOBS, we will continue improving the basics in life – education, housing, and healthcare – so every Singaporean has security and peace of mind,” said Prime Minister Lawrence Wong in his 2026 New Year Message to fellow Singaporeans.

In 2025, Singapore experienced stronger-than-expected economic growth of 4.8 per cent. Going forward, the PAP Government is reinforcing social safety nets for Singaporeans of all ages and abilities. It will keep bringing in overseas investments and opportunities for Singaporeans. Read more.

In 2025, the PAP fought for the housing and education dreams of youth. PM Wong called out the "endless tuition" culture around education. MPs like Hany Soh (Marsiling-Yew Tee GRC) called for lower housing loan rates for families with a newborn. Read more.

The expanded Mi&U (米&U) programme now gives grocery help to 620 needy families in Whampoa, up from 500. New MP Shawn Loh (Jalan Besar GRC) has even more heartfelt plans for his residents. Read more
