Americans for Safe Access

Happy New Year, Friend!

So Long 2025...

Americans for Safe Access (ASA) is starting the year with clarity about what’s required. Not hope. Not vibes. Old school organizing that begins with you!  ASA’s resolution to ensure safe and legal access to medical cannabis began nearly 24 years ago.

That commitment hasn’t changed. What has changed is the pace and complexity of federal policy—and the urgency for patient voices to be present when decisions are being made.

Today, as you take stock of 2025 and look ahead to 2026, we hope a renewed commitment to your medical cannabis advocacy is part of your plans for the new year.

Whether it's included in your New Year's Resolution or just a commitment you are making to yourself and your community, the 2026 Medical Cannabis Action Pledge was created to help you plug in!

2026 will be a turning point for medical cannabis and cannabinoid policy— decisions made through rulemaking, appropriations, and agency actions in 2026 will shape patient access for decades.

Here’s the hard truth: if patient advocates are not organized, visible, and ready to respond in 2026, decisions will be made about us—without us.

Success in2026will require patientsto be organized, visible, and impossible to ignore.

This is a call to action for patient advocates:it’s time to brush up on your talking points and activate your networks. Your presence must be felt in your communities, state houses, and on Capitol Hill. Your voices must be echoed on social media, in local papers, and in the national press.

By taking the Medical Cannabis Action Pledge, you will join a growing network of patients, caregivers, health professionals, and allies committed to safe access.

<[link removed]>SIGN THE PLEDGE! <[link removed]>We are asking patient advocates tocommit to showing up when it counts as their 2026 New Year’s resolution. And we’re committing to give you the training, tools, and support to keep it.

You are NOT alone. By taking the ASA Action Pledge, you’ve joined a growing network of patients, caregivers, health professionals, and allies who are ready to show up for each other in 2026.

ASA has created the Medical Cannabis Action Pledge Toolkit to ensure we all succeed! It provides a practical, centralized set of resources designed to help advocates act with confidence and clarity.
