Victory: Court Rules in Favor of NTPSA || v. Neom

January 1, 2025

In NTPSA II v. Neom, Ninth Circuit District Court Judge Trina Thompson sided with Temporary Protected Status (TPS) holders from Nepal, Honduras, and Nicaragua. National TPS Alliance II v. Noem is a case challenging the Trump administration’s efforts to remove humanitarian protections for TPS Holders from Nepal, Honduras, and Nicaragua. This victory is a testament to the strength and resilience of Temporary Protected Status holders who have tirelessly fought for justice.

We are stronger and safer together. For nearly a decade, Nepali TPS holders have contributed to this country as essential workers, caregivers, small business owners, and community leaders. They deserve the right to live and work in the U.S. without fear of deportation. Immigrants are the backbone of this country, and Temporary Protected Status holders have built families, contributed to our economy, and become an essential part of American society.

Adhikaar applauds the the legal team from the National Day Laborer Organizing Network, the ACLU Foundations of Northern California and Southern California, the Center for Immigration Law and Policy (CLIP) at UCLA School of Law, and Haitian Bridge Alliance and the plaintiffs National TPS Alliance, United for TPS Nepal (UTPSN), and the individual plaintiffs who fought for TPS holders right to live and work in the U.S. with dignity.

Adhikaar will continue to host clinics and Know Your Rights Sessions. We will also work with our partners in New York to ensure that the city remains a haven for all and build our community defense programs. We will work with legal service providers and community groups around the country serving Nepali-speaking communities. We are here for TPS holders.
