As we wave goodbye to 2025, I am so proud of everything the Liberal Democrats
have achieved this year.

Our record breaking success in the local elections – beating Labour and the
Conservatives.

Our victories in Parliament – from banning puppy smuggling to backing a new
Customs Union with the EU.

Standing up to Donald Trump and Nigel Farage - voting down Reform’s dangerous
attempt to allow the UK to leave the ECHR, and protecting the BBC, a national
institution, from bullies like President Trump.

Holding Labour to account for all their failures and mistakes. Leaving
families and pensioners to struggle against sky-high energy bills and food
prices, allowing our NHS to reach breaking point, and still not putting an end
to the terrible sewage scandal.

The Conservatives and Reform are doing nothing to actually hold this
government to account.We are the party pushing the government to act with
urgency and do better for our country in 2026.

We are the party who are fighting to stop Trump’s America from becoming
Farage’s Britain.

And at a time where division and hate can feel all around us, we are the
party standing up for what brings us together, not tears us apart.

With your hard work, I know there is more success in store for us in 2026 –
not least winning in Scotland, Wales and across England.

So from all of us at the Liberal Democrats, I wish you a happy and hopeful
2026.
