Honestly, I didn’t want to have to send this today. It’s New Year’s Eve after all!
But there is a battle going on.
Did you see the exposé by the YouTuber on the Minnesota day care centers? It’s pretty startling.
Well, several people in Idaho have followed suit. But here’s the issue….
Many Republicans voted for this. Some (who voted for it) are now writing strongly worded letters to virtue signal… much like the entire 2025 legislative session…

It only made sense to highlight the democrats so you could see all of the Republicans that voted in sync with them on this day-care bill. It was sponsored on the floor of the house by Josh Tanner (Republican in District 14) and by Melissa Wintrow (Democrat in District 19), on the floor of the Senate. It was voted on by Speaker Mike Moyle, President Pro Tempore Kelly Anthon, and MANY others who claim to be Republicans.

That’s right, the Gang of 8. The group that gets the most flak in Idaho is the one that has stood its ground throughout the 2025 session, and because of that, has shed light on those who have not.
Others voted against this junk as well… so we applaud them. However, as Republicans, we have a majority in Idaho… yet it rarely looks that way when the votes are counted.
We will continue to expose the RINOs and those who vote against the Idaho GOP Platform. Our scorecard, the Idaho Republican Platform Scorecard, rated S1206 negatively, as did the Idaho Freedom Foundation. Here’s our summary:
Despite some superficial cost savings and restrictions on subsidy permanence, this bill materially expands the role of government in early childhood care—a domain the Idaho Republican Party Platform asserts belongs to families and the private sector (Article III, Section 1; Article XIV, Section 1). ICCP is not a constitutionally required program, and allocating millions in taxpayer-controlled federal dollars to expand child care access sets a dangerous precedent of dependency. The platform calls for defunding programs outside government’s constitutional obligations and rejects the long-term acceptance of federal dollars that steer state policy. S1206 grows state administration in an area that should be left to families, churches, and communities, and thus warrants a negative rating.
