I learned this when I served three combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, and it remains true today. It takes dedication and bravery to defeat authoritarian forces — especially when they’re at your doorstep.

Now, Donald Trump and his corrupt administration are coming after those of us who are standing up and speaking out against his unlawfulness.

That’s not the America I believe in.

From the halls of Congress, to the Armed Forces, to the streets of our communities, we are all tasked with renewing our commitment to defending our republic and everyone who lives here — no matter their background — and creating a country where we all have a fair shot at success.
