So let’s be honest: If Republicans tried to expel Ilhan from Congress, it would be for nothing other than partisan, racist spite.

But Minneapolis is under full-scale attack right now from the far-right. They have zeroed in on Ilhan and Somali-Americans because they need a new topic to rile people up and get mileage out of on Fox News.

But to take this even further, and attempt to expel Ilhan on no real basis at all, would be starkly authoritarian and set a dangerous precedent for the future. That’s why we have to be ready for anything that comes next.

Thankfully we have an opportunity with tonight’s FEC deadline to send a message to anyone who wants to mess with Ilhan that she has a huge team by her side.

We won’t be intimidated. We won’t fall for anti-immigrant scapegoating.

Please, chip in whatever you can afford and stand against these GOP attacks. It’s so important that we have a grassroots movement by our side, ready to take on whatever the far-right throws our way.
