Dear John,
I’m Pritam Singh, Chairman and CEO of Sea Shepherd Conservation Society.
As this year draws to a close, I want to speak to you not only as the leader of this organization, but as someone who has stood alongside Sea Shepherd for decades.
I first began supporting this mission in the 1980s, when Sea Shepherd was still a small, determined fleet driven by the belief that the oceans deserved defenders willing to act. Over the years, I have watched this organization grow, ship by ship, crew member by crew member, into a global force for ocean protection. It has been one of the great honors of my life to support this work personally and to help guide its growth.
To everyone who has already given during the Million Dollar Match, thank you. Your generosity has kept our ships at sea and made it possible for our crews to commit months of their lives to this mission. They stand watch through long nights and rough seas, far from their families and loved ones, often during holidays, because they know what is at stake if they are not there. Your support sustains them, and it sustains hope for the wildlife and communities they protect.
What has always moved me most about Sea Shepherd is the people who stand behind it. Our supporters are kindred spirits, individuals who understand that the oceans cannot speak for themselves and who choose to act on their behalf. I am deeply grateful to stand with you in this shared commitment.
If you have not yet had the opportunity to give, tonight is the final chance to take part in the Million Dollar Match. Until midnight, every gift is matched dollar for dollar, doubling its impact as we prepare for the year ahead. I invite you to see what your support has made possible this year and what it will help us achieve next.
