Since Day One, John, the Trump administration has enacted its agenda to delay, freeze and cancel clean energy projects, while giving hundreds of millions to prop up old, unreliable coal plants. 

In doing so, electricity bills have increased in 47 states. 

EDF Action has a long, proven history of advancing clean energy policies at the federal and state level, so we can cut pollution and lower costs for households and businesses nationwide. And next year, that continues to be one of our top priorities.

Policy decisions have a real impact on people’s lives. When we built our strategy for next year, we focused on what is important for communities and the environment. In 2026, we plan to: 

• Ensure our household products remain safe by protecting the Toxic Substances Control Act from extremists in Congress who want to strip away critical chemical protections. 
• Ease household energy expenses and cut pollution by advancing clean energy policies that will keep our air clean and provide more affordable and reliable electricity. 
• Effectively implement our climate victories by sending experts to states like Texas, where newly enacted laws help more families access clean energy, clean water and stronger flood protections. 
• Empower communities and strengthen partnerships to make tangible progress that puts people at the center of climate solutions. 
• Engage and mobilize advocates to support climate champions nationwide in the 2026 midterms to ensure leaders are focused on policies that protect people and planet by engaging in key races, mobilizing volunteers and connecting with voters.
