Today, 2025 will come to an end.

There’ll be fireworks, countdowns, and a lot of talk about fresh starts. But while the calendar flips to 2026, our democracy won’t reset itself.

The forces shaping the next General Election are already moving. Quietly, steadily, and mostly out of sight.

Dark money is flowing into politics through loopholes designed to avoid scrutiny.

Disinformation is spreading faster than facts. The far-right are being normalised in a political system that too often rewards outrage over accountability.

If you truly want to make 2026 a Happy New Year, we need to push back and work to see the change we desperately need.
