We’re barreling towards the deadline and I’m worried about a few things.
I’m worried that what happens in the next 48 hours will determine the narrative of this entire midterm election. And as we barrel towards our end-of-quarter FEC deadline, here’s what I’m ruminating over:
- We are the target for Republicans. After every single county in New Hampshire shifted toward the Republicans in 2024, the NRSC and billionaire-backed super PACs circled our state as their top pick-up opportunity. They see a path to a hardened Republican majority in the Senate that runs right through our backyards. And they’ve picked an old, familiar name in John Sununu to run against us.
- We are the anti-Trump firewall. This isn’t just about a seat in the Senate. It’s about standing up to Donald Trump’s extreme agenda in the second half of his term. We cannot afford to lose a single seat if we want to protect our democracy and our way of life.
- Pundits & PACs are paying attention to this 48-hour deadline. At midnight tomorrow the FEC closes the books on the quarter. Our fundraising numbers will become public under finance law. Every GOP strategist and dark-money group will be scanning the FEC reports looking for a crack in our foundation. A strong report doesn't just fund our campaign — it acts as a psychological shield that can scare off opposing super PACs and donors.
If we post a giant fundraising total powered by lots of grassroots donors, we send a clear message that our campaign has momentum. That momentum will get covered by the press. It’ll scare off the NRSC and outside funders.
But if we fall short, we invite an avalanche of Republican money into New Hampshire. They’re going to see us as weak, and they’ll want to strike to take us out.
There’s a lot riding on what happens in the next 48 hours. We set an ambitious fundraising goal for all the aforementioned reasons, and the only way we can get there is if you step up right now to make your first donation before the FEC deadline.
Will you chip in $5 before our FEC deadline to send a powerful message to the politicians, pundits, and PACs who are watching? Every dollar helps us show strength and say loudly and clearly: We are going to win this election.

Running a small business and serving in Congress have both taught me that real success isn't something one person achieves on their own — it happens when a group of people decides to work toward a common goal.
I can't stand up to the millions of dollars the GOP is planning to spend by myself, but this grassroots team can. This isn't just my campaign; it's a movement we're building together. I really need to see us come together over these next 48 hours so we can post a number that shows exactly how strong we are.
I know you all will come through.
With gratitude,
Chris Pappas
