I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself.

My name is Avanelle Mitchell, and I serve as Live Action’s Campus Outreach Manager. I work directly with the college students who are launching Live Action chapters on their campuses across Southern California, and I want to share what I’m seeing up close.

These students are energized, serious, and deeply aware of the cultural confusion surrounding them.

They’re not only facing debates about abortion. They’re navigating a campus culture shaped by hookup culture, contraception, pornography, and a widespread rejection of marriage and family. And they know that if abortion is ever going to be unthinkable, those deeper beliefs have to be challenged too.

That’s why students are so excited about Live Action’s campus outreach program.

At our recent kickoff and training days, I watched students lean forward as they learned how to engage their peers not just on abortion but on the broader vision for a pro-life, pro-family culture rooted in truth and human dignity.

One student told me afterward:

“I’ve always believed these things, but no one ever showed us how to talk about them on campus. This makes me feel prepared instead of intimidated.”

And they’re already taking action.

Students are planning outreach events, hosting discussions, and preparing to bring Live Action’s messaging into classrooms, quads, and student centers, places where culture is actively being shaped.

Even before their official chapters launch, we’re seeing momentum build as students begin having conversations they never felt equipped to have before.

This is how lasting change happens.
