That was the question 16-year-old Jojo’s boyfriend posed to her, after he lavished her with gifts and affection.

She didn’t realize it, but her “boyfriend” was grooming her so he could traffic her. First to his friends, then to strangers.

After this, Jojo gave up on love. She became depressed and she hated herself.

To make matters worse, when she tried to get help from the judicial system, it failed her.

Exodus Cry began providing Jojo with specialized trauma therapy, to help her heal from the inside out.

She shares, “My therapist was so amazing!... I learned to have boundaries, I learned to love myself unconditionally… I have come so far working with her.”

For seven years, Jojo has longed to fight for kids like her—helping youth who’ve endured trauma to navigate the complex judicial system.

Exodus Cry was honored to award Jojo with a scholarship to help her obtain an advanced paralegal certification.

“My dream is to help young ladies who’ve been through catastrophic trauma and I want to understand the laws so I can better serve them,” she expressed.

This paralegal certification won’t just help Jojo to live her dream, it will impact the lives of all those she assists in the days ahead.
