As this year comes to a close, I want to talk to you about what’s ahead — because I feel fired up about 2026.
In 2025, Democratic pro-choice women delivered real, momentum-building wins. From Miami to Wisconsin to Virginia, we saw expectation-defying performances for our women up and down the ballot. We’ve watched voters’ growing public dissatisfaction with Republican leadership. And we’re hearing from thousands of grassroots Democrats, volunteers, and small-dollar donors who are ready to turn frustration into action. Polling shows it. Special elections show it. I can feel it everywhere I go: people are ready to take back power.
After 40 years of building EMILYs List, I’ve learned this lesson well: when voters are angry and energized, we win. And that’s exactly what 2026 offers us.
This is why I’m really excited about next year, John: we have a real opportunity to take back the U.S. House majority, flip and hold critical U.S. Senate seats, take back power in critical state governments, and elect Democratic pro-choice women at every level who can hold this administration accountable and protect our rights where it matters most.
Governors. Attorneys general. Secretaries of state. State legislators and local leaders.
These are the women who can block extremist policies, protect access to abortion, defend free and fair elections, and hold the Trump administration accountable when Congress or the courts won't. They are the front line of our democracy — and EMILYs List is already working to recruit, train, and support them.
