Dear Friends,

As the year draws to a close, I’m sending you a personal message to sincerely thank you for all of your support.

Your generosity and trust in 2025 created real and major change our fight to defend press freedom around the world.

This year, with your support, we were able to coordinate the exfiltration of Russian journalist Ekaterina Barabash, who is now safe in France. British-Egyptian blogger Alaa Abdel Fattah was also freed this year after spending a decade behind bars in Egypt.

We opened a new office in Prague to strengthen our presence in Central Europe in response to the growing threats to press freedom in the region, and we made sure that the issues of environmental journalists’ safety and information integrity were included in the COP30 declaration.

These are just a few examples of the important work our organisation strives to achieve all year round— supporting journalists and journalism, everywhere.

And, you’re part of every one of these victories.
