They want to write us off before we even get started
Warning… campaign finance talk incoming!
December 31st is our End-of-Quarter deadline — which means everything we've raised since October will be tallied up, reported to the FEC, and made public.
As of 9AM, we’re still coming up $35,000 short of our grassroots fundraising goal. It’s not the best news, but my finance team told me that if just 1,400 people reading this email make a donation of $25 or more, we’ll be back on track. So what do you think? Will you be one of the 1,400 people we need to chip in?
Things are going to get serious when our fundraising numbers are released…
The establishment in D.C. will analyze whether we're "viable." Political reporters will decide if we're worth covering. Our opponents will look for any excuse to call us weak.
They want to write us off before we even get started.
I know what it’s like to be written off and ignored. Growing up, I was the kid with chronic asthma and an inhaler. The kid who lived in an apartment building with a single mom who worked hard, but couldn’t always make ends meet. The kid who put herself through college slinging margaritas at the La Casita in Golden Valley.
Nobody thought I'd end up as Lieutenant Governor — and I guarantee you there are people right now betting I won't make it to the U.S. Senate.
But I've learned something from a lifetime of being counted out: the folks that doubt you don't see the whole picture. They miss the resilience. The determination. The folks standing shoulder to shoulder with you saying "not on our watch."
Hitting this fundraising goal is our chance to prove what we already know… that this campaign is real, and we have what it takes to win.
So please, if you want to see a Minnesota that works for everyone, no matter where they came from, chip in a few dollars before our End-of-Quarter deadline:
